Danville: Porsche GT Team wants to gain second overall victory in Virginia
IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship, 9th race in Danville / USA
With two new 911 RSRs, the Porsche GT Team will compete on the Virginia International Raceway on August 27th at the ninth season of the IMSA Sportscar Championship.
The 510 bhp race car, which competed against strong competitors in the highly competitive class GTLM, was completely redesigned by Porsche Motorsport in Weissach on the basis of the high-performance sports car 911 GT3 RS for this season. On July 22nd he celebrated his first victory in Lime Rock. Strongly represented on the 5.263-kilometer-long tradition track near Danville in the US state of Virginia are also Porsche customer teams with a total of four 911 GT3 R in the class GTD. As in Lime Rock, the prototypes are also missing in this third-last season race, so the overall winner will definitely be a GT vehicle for the second time this season.
